My Trip To Japan!

So you might know, I've always dreamed about going to Japan, since I was in elementary school I'd say! Many reasons as to "why?". I want to go to Japan because of the connection made by watching the Japanese drama series "Oshin". I want to go to Japan because all the cool anime series from the childhood like "Little Princess Sara", "Robin Hood No Daiboken", "Lady! Lady!" etc, were made in Japan. As I got older, I realized there were anime series "original, uncut and unedited" and since they would be in Japanese language, oh well, I wanted to learn the language. There I went, buying language books and dictionaries to self-teach me when I was around 13 years old. Now, I want to go to Japan mainly for Takara & Anime dolls hunt! Did I go to Japan though? Uh, no... =~
Until my dad surprised the whole family, including me, with tickets to Japan that same day, and I say "airline passes to put us on an airplane that physically takes us to Japan, the country!" Oh boy! So, me, my parents, my sisters and brother all went to Japan. Unfortunately I did not have time to write to biscuit’s club and ask the members about where I should go for dolls while in Japan. I was already in Tokyo by then, and I knew how to find Totoco store, Licca Castle and listed them as must go.

When we arrived to the hotel I ran to turn the TV on, thinking that anime would be available at any time of the day! WRONG! During the first days while walking around Tokyo, I thought that I would find anime dolls everywhere, but there were no anime stores around! But just restaurants and other stores not interesting at all, "WHERE ARE ALL THE ANIME STORES?!!!" eeek! :S I wanted to know if there were other places filled with lotsa Jenny's and Excelinas! We had 3 days left in Japan by then, and bugged my dad until he said I can go find those places rather than explore the city with the family and our Japanese guide. It would be fun going alone on subways and trains trying to find a place, like an adventure or a treasure hunt! hehe OK! Please excuse me a second... "I was already in Japan"... I had to say that again! lol :P

When we got back to the room, I took over my little sister's computer and opened my yahoo page to post a Q to the group about Takara dolls places I MUST check in Japan, and I waited for someone to reply. Luckily, someone was online!
Just before I opened the message, I opened my eyes and found myself in my stupid bed in my stupid bedroom! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! :'((

So, in the end I found that my beautiful trip to Japan was just a dream, and will remain a dream until further notice! (I left out lotsa details to keep my dream-story short).

P.S: I tried to go back to sleep so I can check the group message that someone left me in the dream, and hoping that I was not dreaming ( or that I was dreaming that it was dream, but actually was really still in Japan), but it doesn't work this way, no! =~

My Second Custom Dolls!!! Yay!

Today I finished my Robin Hood No Daiboken custom dolls that I started yesterday! The dolls are 27 cm tall, hand painted, hair styled, and outfits hand made by me! They are based on the characters of Robin and Lady Marian from the Japanese anime series. Enjoy the pics below! ^_^

You can also ID different Takara Jenny Friends by their Eye Print, by searching by the dolls first name.

Dolls and Figures Terminology!

Howdy new enthusiastic collectors, I managed to put all the terms that you might run into sometimes when buying collectables online. These are most of the well-known terms that you see, with some explanation. Hope this will help you understand the great world of Dolls and Anime Collections better! Enjoy! ^_^

Collectible: Any action figure that you can collect. The most valuable collectible action figures are in high demand and low supply.
Excellent Condition: Doll that is not mint but has no major flaws. Perhaps dress is not perfect or original, there can be minor flaws.
Exclusives: Exclusive figures are often found at retailers that can order in large quantities. These retailers ask for figures that will only be available at their stores.
FA: For Auction.
FS: For Sale.
FT: For Trade.
HTF: Common abbreviation at online auctions and doll lists; means 'Hard To Find."
Limited edition: Figures that are not produced in large quantities. Often figures that are not expected to sell well will find themselves with the moniker “Limited Edition.”
Mail-in premiums: Mail-in premiums were originally only offered through the mail. Often you needed to clip and send in “proofs of purchase” for the dolls or figures.
MIB: Mint in box. Factory condition in original box.
MISB: Mint in Sealed Box. Box has never been opened, and is like it was if it was just purchased from a store.
MISP: An all-encompassing acronym that means Mint in Sealed Package.
Mint: in package. Similar to MIB except all accessories are in their packages.
MNB: Mint, no box.
MOC: Mint on Card. This means that the action figure is unopened.
NM: Near mint.
NRFB: Never removed from box.
Poor Condition: Doll is a mess; major major flaws; maybe doll is salvageable but even that is in question!
Premiums Doll: Dolls only offered through the mail. Often you needed to buy or collect a certain number of dolls, then clip and send in “proofs of purchase” for the Premiums doll.
REPRO: Stands for REPRODUCTION. Dolls made to look like antique doll or figure. NOT fakes; most reproduction dolls are marked as reproductions, BUT be on the lookout for unsuspecting or unscrupulous people who DO try to sell a reproduction as an original.
VINYL: Plastic developed in the late 1940s that is the dominant type of plastic used to make dolls and figures since the 1960s; can be hard or soft.
WTB: Want to Buy.
WTT: Want to Trade. Can also be WTTF, meaning Want to Trade for.

A few tips about collecting...

It's very important for the serious collector (dolls, figures, etc) to buy what s/he is looking for immediately! Why? For many reasons including:

1) You might not be able to find it again in the future, especially if it was authentic, realistic details make of the character, collectors’ Limited Edition (LE) or Special Edition (SE).
2) Even if you find it in the future, the price might be way higher than what it originally sold for when it was first released.
3) Hey, you really really want it, don't you?!

My example from my own personal experience is the Kotobukiya vinyl statue based on the RPG game Final Fantasy VIII (aka FFVIII and FF8).
This below picture of the main character in the game: Squall Leonhart (isn't he cute?) ^-^ I don't think he would like described as "cute" though! hehe ^_^; Oh well, enjoy the pics belowe as well!

This figure was originally released in 1999 at exactly $45 ...

The best quality & details figure ever made for FFVIII Game Characters

Now it could or "should" start as high as $100!!

I guess I was so much in love and very much addicted to this game when it was released 98-99, and so bought the FVIII figures immediately when they were released! That was the best decision I've ever made during my years of collecting, to get a collectable at the time of its release "cheap"! ^__^

Anyone likes the PS RPG game FFVIII? I do! ^_^ It's actually my fave RPG game although there were more advanced and highly developed graphics in the later released FF games, but hey, I like Squall and Rinoa! :P~
This is a very cute pic of Squall sleeping peacefully while holding a Rinoa doll... hehe... (it's NOT done by me) sorry the source of the pic is gone when I cleared the history and I'm unable to find it again! ^^;

OK! So it was really embarrassing for me to post my own drawing from teenage years! *giggles* but I thank those who encourage me to continue what I stopped 5 years ago! ^__^ Here are some drawings I made when I was younger, and hope that my "right" hand can still produce such painting after all these years, although I am practicing to get back where I used to be... I used and still draw from scratch, and sometimes get my ideas from things I see around me, but I never photo copy or carbon copy any drawing I make... These drawing below are not the original size, they have been downsized to fit in the blog... Oh well, enjoy... ^_^

This picture I drew I didn't write the date on it, unfortunately, but I believe it was the year 2000/01. This drawing is one of my favorites and it's of the main character in my comic book, and his name is Sometarou Takayama. *whispering*... He's cute! ^_^;

This is drawing by me, finished around 2000, of Hatsuko & Sometarou... and believe it or not, it was stolen from me months after when I moved to my first apt in FL and had plenty of people helping me move in. It was in a "honey-color" wooden frame, I posted a scan of it online asking if anyone has seen it during my yahoo chatting years, and a girl told me that she has seen it in Boston, MA during a birthday party she was invited to. Now she was positive it was my drawing when she saw the scan I posted, but I didn't hear anything else about it. I still want it back badly!! The funny part is that who would dare to steal a painting by a young kid??! I mean come one seriously!! It is NOT the Monaliza and I am NOT Leonardo Da Vinci!! By the way, it's based on a sailor Moon comic book I bought at the time, BASED and NOT photo/carbon copied! How much I loved it! ;_;

This is drawing by my I finished in 1997 during a class while I was so tired of listening to my boring teacher! ^_^;
From top to bottom/left to right it's: Kumiko's dad I forgot his name, Sometarou, Sometarou's mom forgot her name, Seiji, a bad guy, and Hatsuko.

This is drawing by me, finished in early 1999. I was thinking romantic... hehe... Hatsuko and Sometarou... in this drawing I focused on the background wall a lot. I like how the sun rays through the window turned out really cool! ^_^

A quick sketch in another boring day in a classroom, little Sometarou getting himself in trouble by cutting all the pillow cases in his parents' bedroom! Uh oh! =P~

I must add that I always enjoyed art classes when I was in K-JR High, and that in high school I always made sure I took at least one art class per semester (my high school was similar to a university system) , and I varied my art classes to make sure I experience different types of art. I took Pottery, Ceramics, Oil painting, Acrylic, charcoal, watercolors, and Aluminum art, in which you make pictures using tools to push the metal on one side to make it rise on the other side and in the end you'll get a metal art picture! I won first prizes in oil painting, charcoal, watercolors, and Aluminum art. All my work was sold to the public and art collectors in school conventions. Copies of it some pieces were used by the school on the greeting cards the school sent out, and some originals were hanged in the main office and the principle's office. To be honest, I wish I had the option of keeping all of them! I dunno what's with some and stealing my art work, because an unfinished watercolors piece titled "Yellow Roses" was stolen from my locker in the school, reported to the school but was never found! ~_~ At least they could have let me finish it!

Sweet Writing Comics Days!

**MR72 is Part 4 of an animated comic book I was working on when I was in Junior High school all through high school years. The first part was about 70 animated page, similar to comic books with the windows and tables etc. The second part was titled "**MR72" with a sub, and it was about 120 animated pages. The third part was called "**MR72" with another sub and was more than 200 animated pages!! I know, it's pretty unbelievable, but it's true! Many told me to get my comics published, but I dunno about that or even how to get it done! Anyway, this here short story I wrote originally not animated, just plainly written, and it's kinda talks about my comic book like an event of Part 3 but not really based on it. Oh well, Enjoy! (by the way I had this published for my English class when I was little!) ^_^;

She looked at the picture in her hands, with some thoughts in her head. While he saw and heard nothing but dark and silence. She has been loving him since she was watching him from far away. She was lost in her thoughts, remembering what her parents told her. "His father may be a wealthy man and he may have a great future," her parents told her once but she can never understood why they never liked him. He was kind, nice and good looking; he was great. She closed her eyes, and a flash of the first meeting came by her eyes. They both used to go to the same high school; were in the same class, but he never talked. And one day when she was watching him as usual, it was the day when they promised each other to be there in front of the future forever. They both graduated. She thought, "I want to be there for you when ever you need me." "I want to protect you," he said looking at her eyes "forever."
And that's why he became a police officer, and after all, her parents had nothing but to accept the reality. She lived as happy as ever she wanted. She had the one she loved by her side and the future just in front of them. Until that night when they all were setting to dinner; she, he, his father and younger sister. Suddenly the phone rang, and his sister answered. "Brother, someone is asking for you from the police department," she said handing him the phone.
"Hello?" He said.
"Mr. ******?" said the man on the phone.
"Yes,this is me."
A period of silence surrounded the room. He listened to the man on the phone while the others kept staring at him wondering what's going on!
"I understand, I'll be there as soon as possible." He said, and hang up the phone.
He was surprised when he saw all these faces just looking at him waiting for an answer for their questions. "What?!" he asked.
"So, what's going?" asked his father.
"Umm, nothing really serious. They wanted me to go to the department at once."
"Don't they know you're not suppose to be working today?" she said.
"Yes, they do. But it's an emergency and I have to go dear, sorry," he replied.
He sat to finish his dinner while she was looking at him, as if she was telling him, "You shouldn't go!"
After dinner, he got dressed, kissed her goodbye and left. "Take care of yourself," she said while watching his car disappearing down the street.
Then her thoughts just stopped. It was the time when she knew nothing beyond. She opened her eyes, stood up and walked toward the stairs. She went upstairs where he laid on the bed there in the dead room. She stood in front of the door, afraid to open it. She was afraid of not seeing the thing she wanted to see, but she was still hoping. She took a deep breath and held the door's knob. She opened the door slowly and walked into the room. She stood beside the bed, where he laid there and sat on the edge of the bed.
She looked at him, but he didn't open his eyes. She heard him breathing, but he heard nothing. She felt his heart beating, but still he felt nothing. "I can feel your heart beating," she said in his ear. Although she was waiting for an answer from him and hoping, she was crying at heart. She also knew that he was trying hard, but gave up as his heart wasn't in it. She remembered again when some officer called that day telling them that he was shot in duty the day they called him to join the department force. What on earth she could do but praying every single day and talking to him asking to come back to her, but he never answered her.
"Will you ever talk to me again like you used to?" she asked him. "Answer me please, say something." But he kept asleep in his endless comma. Her eyes filled with tears and her heart was still broken, but she was still hoping.
The other day she woke up, and she thought that she saw him awake with his dreamy eyes looking at her. "Am I dreaming?" she asked herself "or are you really back?!"
She looked at him, again and again, as if she saw something she had never seen before. She held his hand in hers and sat next to the bed. Nobody was home, and it was raining heavily. In the dark quiet room, where there was a small table made of glass with purple flowers vase on it, was a frame of a wedding picture of two young couple; just too young and so beautiful. In the picture, she looked so happy and so did he, but that night in that sad room, there was him laying down on the cold bed with a cute smile on his face. She kept looking at him and in his mind there was one sentence "I hoped, and he's back"
But she never knew the truth, and that he was never back.

These are very nice articles about time/space travel, which I have been arguing about a lot lately. I believe that while I am living in the present "current" moment, my past and my future are taking place and are happening at this very moment. I don't know if someone else argued this before, but I believe that to demonstrate this imagine that your life is very similar to a movie that is playing. The clip that you are currently watching is your present, but there are many other sequenced clips on the slide that either you already watched, or will watch once this current clip ends. Either ways, the clips are already exist on the tape or the DVD. similarly, our life has different points that represent the past, the present, and the future. our life is like a path that is going ahead of us, while we are just following forward only. What ever is behind us is called (past), each step we take is the present, and each step ahead of us is the future that will soon become behind us thus becoming past too!
I don't have any proofs to support my thoughts of time and space. But have you ever heard about those people with the psychic powers or prophecy; well those people are "sometimes" able to view an event in the future, or tell us something from our past! How can they watch something that either took place in the past or didn't happen yet unless that they are seeing it because it is taking place right now!

This is far more complicated and I don't want to continue because this topic needs to be studied further and deeply rather than just reflecting on pointless thoughts! Oh and please don't attack claiming opposite theories because these are just some thoughts that crossed my mind on a boring day! I'll add more thoughts on this as findings and info are more organized with precise examples! ^_^;

I am a big fan of A Little Princess Sara (小公女セーラ), part of World Masterpiece Theater by Nippon Animations. I always dreamed of finding the dolls of sara Crewe made by Takara Licca as Licca's 3rd generation anime friend. Well, I finally found her mint in her box! ^_^ I also found the little dolls that Sara loved dearly, Emily, which was made by Takara for Jenny dolls only! I repainted the little plastic Emily to look more like the Emily from the anime series! This dolls, I'd say, is the pride of my collection!! ^__^

- Sara Crewe Doll of Sara from A little Princess Sara Japanese animated series. My dream was to find this precious doll and my dream came true!!! Also I've been wanting to get the only 2 figures ever been released based on the animated series, and I found them too on Y!J (I LOVE Y!J)
- Sarah Russell, from Lady! Lady! Sara is Lynn's older sister. I never knew this doll existed until I saw her and had to get her! She is very cute and looks very much like the gentle and kind Sarah we know from the animated TV series. ^-^
